An April snow shower lets loose as we witness an epic race between two marvels of Communist engineering. On its way from Radebeul to Radeburg, steam engine 099-756-9 leads a train through Lößnitzgrund, as a Trabant races alongside. The 2-10-2T was built in 1956 as one of the last of its type, an almost exact copy of a design that dates to the late 1920s. East German automaker Sachsenring produced over three million plastic bodied “Trabis” from 1961 through the early 1990s, with only minor design changes - 1997
